ReLEx smile is the most gentle eye laser treatment, and we are the private eye clinic in Northern Europe that has performed most of this type of treatment. ReLEx smile is made with the advanced ZEISS VisuMax 500 kHz femtosecond laser, which is the market’s safest and most accurate laser, and our laser surgeon and ophthalmologist dr. med. Sven Asp, has a “European record” in the number of SMILE treatments performed (more than 15,000 treatments). ReLEx smile is a state of the art laser treatment for myopia and building defects.

Who Can Get Laser Surgery?

Laser treatment is often the right method for individuals under 40 years old who desire freedom from glasses. There are no hard and fast rules, and we have also performed laser treatments on individuals over 60 years old. A thorough pre-examination will determine if you are a candidate for laser surgery.

Is Laser Treatment Painful?

Laser treatment is conducted under topical anesthesia and is painless. The eye drops may sting, and there will be some pressure applied to the eye during the procedure. Many people are surprised by how little they feel during the treatment.

How Does Laser Surgery Work?

Laser surgery is performed under topical anesthesia, and you lie down during the procedure. The surgeon sits close to your head, controls the electric bed, and positions you close to the laser before treatment. You may feel slight pressure on the eye, and the laser treatment itself lasts for 30 seconds and is painless.
